PreVisor to Sponsor Human Capital Institute Public Sector Innovation Tour in Washington, D.C. on April 16, 2008
Washington, D.C. - March 31, 2008 - The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator that is advancing the science of strategic talent management, has announced that PreVisor, a leader in predictive employee selection, will sponsor a live HCI Innovation Tour focused on leveraging talent in the public sector for human resources and other talent professionals.
HCI’s Innovation Tour, Career Management in the Public Sector: Strategies for Building a Robust Talent Pipeline, will feature an expert panel discussing talent management topics specific to Federal agencies. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C.
"Career management and talent pipeline programs are strategic assets for far-sighted organizations because they develop an empowered, productive and properly skilled workforce that is poised to meet changing mission requirements. Yet building these programs continues to be challenging for many Federal agencies," said Allen Zeman, President, HCI Government Solutions. “PreVisor’s extensive experience in helping both private and public organizations identify and leverage talent is a natural fit for this Innovation Tour."
"Talent management and workforce planning bring a new level of efficiency to all organizations," said Noel Sitzmann, PreVisor CEO. "PreVisor is committed to supporting these efforts in the public sector and is pleased to work with HCI to make that happen."
Moderated by Allen Zeman, the event will feature presentations by and a roundtable discussion among experienced agency leaders and practitioners including Jane Homeyer, Director of Competencies and Standards for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence; Rose Mueller Hanson, Managing Research Scientist for the Personnel Decisions Research Institutes, a PreVisor company; and Leslie Pollack, Director, Succession Planning Programs for the U.S. Office of Personal Management. The presenters will describe the latest research, best practices and practical techniques for building a viable career management program, including:
- How to create a program that is aligned with the needs of the organization - so both employees and employers benefit
- How to make the business case for career management in your organization and how to calculate the ROI of closing skill gaps
- Practical tools and techniques for how to design and develop an effective program
- Examples of how career management systems have been implemented in government organizations and the lessons learned from these experiences
The PreVisor-sponsored HCI Innovation Tour is free with advance registration at www.humancapitalinstitute.org, and is recommended for federal agency leaders responsible for talent management and development.
